Fall To Layout 136 – Springtime Vintage

I know I’m not the only crafter that falls into that creative rut.  I sat for way to long and stared at the papers I wanted to use.  I even knew what stamp set I wanted to use.  Just nothing came together for me.  That is until I came across the Fall To Layout (FTL) #136 over on the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.  With the card layout in front of me, the rest of it went together pretty easily.  Honestly, sometimes I just need something simple to kick the creativity into motion.  There was plenty of room in this layout for plenty of creative liberties.  I’m sure I took a few but the integrity of the layout is still the same.

I used the lovely Springtime Vintage DSP, coordinating Not Quite Navy and added the Early Espresso with the edges punched with the Scallop Trim Border.  I’m loving this color combination!  The Victoria Crocheted ribbon was “scrunched” onto a length of Sticky Strip

100_2963     The Designer Label punch coordinates with the sneak peek Four Frames set.  After this month, it won’t be available again until July and the release of the new 2011 – 2012 Idea Book & Catalog.  The image was colored in using the Blender Pen and Baja Breeze & Old Olive classic inks.  The ‘for you’ is found in the Hostess Level 1 set – Afterthoughts.  I used the Early Espresso marker to ink up only the section of the stamp that I wanted to use.  This technique is called 100_2965omitting

Don’t you just adore the butterfly?  He is from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, double layered in Very Vanilla on Early Espresso.  I’ve blinged him up with three of the Jewels Basic Rhinestones.  That’s right!  I wanted the bling in chocolate so I grabbed my permanent marker and colored me some bling.  Such a fun and 100_2973economical way to have bling in every color of the rainbow!  A little Baja Breeze sponged on the wings and he perches on top a Dimensional in the corner of the card :)

I’m so glad you stopped in today.  Please leave a comment and let me know what inspires you when you find yourself in the creative rut.  I hope you’ve been inspired by something you’ve seen today.  You can always stop by the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.  They have some great CAS layouts for you to try.

Hugs,

Leslee
