Wonderful Mother Card

I know…it’s been almost two weeks since my last post.  I’m sorry.  Both my boys are playing sports this spring.  Of course, practices and games are the same day at opposite ends of the county.  We’ve just started and already I’m run ragged.  I love being a soccer/baseball mom!  I’m a sideline yeller (and I’m good at it)!  I have caught up on the inside house work and, now, with each beautiful day, I’ll be outside working in the flower beds and veggie garden.  Things will get back to an even pace…I hope I promise.

Today, I’m sharing this card with you…

I love how this turned out!  I showed it at a recent workshop.  The simple black and white card allows the simple focal image to pop at you.

Here’s the deets…

I ran the Whisper White card base only partially through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  I then simply backed it out.  Love this technique of partially embossing your card stock…saves on layering and bulk!  Of course, my favorite black gingham ribbon wraps around the card at the place the embossing stops.  I created the Basic Black Scallop Trimmed rectangle using the Scallop Trim Corner and Scallop Trim Border punches.  Here’s a great tutorial on how this technique is accomplished, Scallop Trimmed.  A layer of Certainly Celery and then Whisper White.  The Little Leaves die is Garden Green.  The flowers are stamped in Crushed Curry with the trio of flowers in One of a Kind and then punched with the Boho Blossoms punch.  A single black Vintage Brad is in each center.  The ‘Wonderful Mother’ sentiment is from the Well Scripted set.  It is a perfect sentiment for Mother’s Day, mom’s birthday or just any day you want mom to know she’s loved and appreciated (which, for me, is everyday)!

Thanks for stopping in today!  I hope you have been inspired.

Hugs,

~Leslee~
