Shadow Stamping
Shadow stamping is also know as 3D Stamping or Faux Embossing and you can find a great tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. It’s a fairly easy technique when using your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. With the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, you can offset the top image slightly from the bottom. Thus creating a shadowed or 3D effect. It will certainly give your image depth.
I started with a Whisper White piece of card stock. I masked the moon using a 1-3/8” circle punched Post-It® note. I brayered on Bashful Blue and then removed the mask. In Brocade Blue, I stamped the flowers from the Upsy Daisy set. Using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I offset the flowers slightly and stamped them again, this time using Whisper White Craft Ink. The sentiment is from the same set and stamped in Basic Black. I layered the image panel on Whisper White and Basic Black and then adhered to a layer of WW on Bashful Blue. A few pieces of my fav black gingham ribbon and black Vintage brads finish off the card. An awesome technique for a beautiful card!
So, quit lurking and give shadow stamping a try! Thanks for stopping by today.
