“J” is for…

Jumbo!

I’m using Stampin’ Up!’s® Jumbo Eyelets and their awesome jumbo Medallion stamp.

I have to admit, I’ve had this stamp for quite some time now.  I’ve never used it as a main image before.  Tons of people love the stamp and it has been the top seller since its release.  I, on the other hand, find it difficult to use and have struggled with its placement.  Well, I think I’ve finally overcome that jumbo struggle.  This is my card…

 J

I think this card turned out super.  To begin with, all I knew for sure was that I wanted to use the Jumbo Eyelets and the Medallion stamp.  Then the color combo came to me.  I think that these colors have a very masculine feel (great…because I have boys).  Yet, they are soft enough for a female.  The base is Sage Shadow.  The main panel of Very Vanilla is layered onto Soft Suede.  The Medallion was inked up with Sage Shadow Classic and I sponged on some Soft Suede.  the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched Jausing the Word Window punch.  This punch fits just about all of the stamps in Teeny Tiny Wishes.  It was then layered onto the small and large oval punched card stock.  I sponged around the edges of the Very Vanilla with Soft Suede just to give it a rustic look.  The Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets have a somewhat rustic feel to them.  I ‘tied’ them together using the Natural Hemp Twine.  The bottom edge was torn to add the the rugged feel of the card.

That’s it for “J” today.  Once I knew what colors to use, I had this card done in a ‘jiffy’!  It could easily be mass produced.  I hope you’ve been inspired to ‘just do it’!  Break out what intimidates you and try different techniques or colors with it.  Remember, if it turns out like ‘junk’, it is just ink and paper.  Try something else with it.  I think I’m ready to try a another technique (or two) with this jumbo Medallion!  Keep a watchful eye out for it.

Hugs,

~Leslee~
