“E” is for…

Easter, Embossing, Eyelet Borders

& Extreme Elements?!

I could have combined all four on one card but where is the fun in that?  I thought that making two separate cards would be much more fun!!  Plus, it gives you more to draw inspiration from.

This first one is definitely a CAS card and could be mass produced very easily.  It is simply a Whisper White card base with the edge punched using the Eyelet Border punch.  Two strips of Pretty In Pink were edge punched.  A length of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon was wrapped around one and then the strip was attached to the top edge of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The second strip is actually edged on both sides (sorry, I should have taken a shot of the inside edge).  It was adhered to the inside, back flap of the card.  The sentiment is from the clear mount Well Scripted set.  I’m really loving the clear mount stamps!!  The flower is found in the Sweet Stems set.  I used Pretty In Pink marker to color the flowers and Green Galore to line the stem.

My second card is a little bit more fun and I had to do it!  Isn’t it just the cutest?!  I’ll start with the base and work my way up.  The base is again a Whisper White base.  I created the embossing on the lower half using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  To achieve this look, I ran it half way through the Big Shot and then backed it out, thus only embossing half of the card stock.  I wrapped a length of So Saffron 5/8” grosgrain (from last year’s Sale-A-Bration) around the card and secured it with a So Saffron button threaded with plum hemp twine (long retired).  I had a Elegant Eggplant piece of card stock that I was using to practice using the Scallop Trim Corner and Scallop Trim Border punch.  I used two of the ‘good’ corners behind the main focal panel.  The panel is Whisper White mounted on Pretty In Pink.  I stamped the ‘splat’ from Extreme Elements (yes, it begins with “E”).  I used So Saffron Classic ink…it looks just like the egg yolk broke! (hehe)  Although, now that I look at it, I should have heat embossed the splat…that would have looked really cool and fit in with ‘embossing’!  I punched the eggshell with the Wide Oval punch and I simply snipped the ‘crack’ in it, creating the two halves.  Its design is from the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper pack.  The “Happy Easter” sentiment is again from the Well Scripted clear-mount stamps.  This is a fun card and I know just who I’m sending it to! =)

I hope you’ve found some ‘E’ inspired inspiration today!  Thanks for stopping by.  Before you leave, let me know what you think.  I love the feedback.  See you back here tomorrow with the letter ‘F’ and lots of F-U-N!

Hugs,
